Last night I met up with Diem, Cullan, and Valerie for okonomiyaki and yakisoba at Boteyan in Toyama City, which is this tiny underground hole-in-the-wall with some of the best okonomiyaki I’ve had in Japan.
They make square okonomiyaki. Very cool.
Diem and I split the ebi (shrimp) okonomiyaki with the yakisoba.
It was amazing. I was pretty hungry because after school I ran with the track team in the mid-afternoon heat, so this hit the spot.
Since we are all leaving Japan at the end of the month, we went for a Leavers’ purikura session. Purikura are these wacky photo booths in Japan. I have no idea why they aren’t in America?
I had a half hour wait for my train back to Takaoka City, so we hung out in Mister Donut. Twist my arm, I’ll get a donut.
It was a fun mid-week break night. Tonight I need to practice my speech. Tomorrow I have to give my closing speech in Japanese in front of the entire school. Not only will it be sad, but my Japanese is still pretty crappy. So…… I’ll let you know how it goes.
