Mid-February in the Northern Alps region of Japan: my weekend was full of snow. There was a soba festival in the Toga region on Sunday, complete with warm sangria drinking in an igloo, fireworks, and a fake marriage. (Japan luuuuvs some fake marriage ceremonies at festivals.)
Today I went snowshoeing in Yoshimine since it was Founder’s Day and I HAD THE DAY OFF WORK. Some friends and I tromped around on trails for a few hours, and then came in for lunch. I feasted on a big plate of Tateyama pork curry. Saturday I never left the couch. Cue the trumpets! It was a great well-rounded weekend.
Now, I need to shower, pack my lunch, clean the kitchen, GET THEE TO BED EARLY, etc. etc. Whomp. Whomp. Hope you all had lovely weekends.
