We had a three-day weekend because Monday was Coming of Age day in Japan. I’m not sure how they actually celebrate in Japan, but I enjoyed lounging on my couch, online videos, doing some yoga, drinking champagne, sampling various kinds of beer, singing karaoke, watching Brave, eating pizza, and going to a festival in town this weekend.
On Sunday, there was a large Nabe festival in Takaoka. Nabe is short for nabemono (鍋物, なべ物, nabe cooking pot + mono things, stuff, kinds), also known as one-pot dishes. They had an assortment of other foods too.
I ate oyster nabe, beef kebabs, cotton candy, and a candied orange. It was a strange, yet amazing combination, much like Japan itself.

Amazing photos! Looks like so much fun!
Amazing photos, I am absolutely drooling over the food you guys had!
Looks delicious! By the way, the 能登ガキ sign is for Noto Oysters, which are from the place I lived before I moved to the city.
