Hi from Japan!
It is about 9,000 degrees here, and I have had a horrible cold for 17 days now. Combined with a new city, language, and overall life……it has been incredibly intense. And I think it might stay that way for a while.
There have been tears shed.
And……
I won’t have Internet at home for months, and for the life of me, can’t find wi-fi in my town. Even at McDonald’s and Starbucks. So I can’t upload photos to my blog. Grrrrrr.
Anyway, I splurged on an iPhone. It’s, wow, amazing. The love of my life right now. So I am instagramming away. Follow me @dailynibbles.
Have a great weekend! I am supposed to climb Mt Fuji half-sick and not having exercised for weeks. Wish me luck!

Take a deep breath, and don’t try to take it all in at once. Living in a new place can be so much more than you ever thought it out to be. Remember how lucky you are! Get well, soon.
Such good advice! I keep telling myself that I wanted this opportunity….it is just more intense (and expensive) than I imagined.
Hope you feel better! Just found your blog and really liking it. You’re very brave! I’m also on instagram if you want followers. I’m hclappy
Hi Sarah, I hope you are feeling better by now. It must be difficult to be away from home in a new culture and sick, too. Take care of yourself.
Linda
Hi. Not sure how I ended up on your blog, but just wanted to say my best friend did the JET program a couple of years ago. It was a major adjustment that took a little while. She ended up loving it and staying four years. I visited her while she was living in Yokohama. I still dream about the food. She had to climb Mt. Fuji too. Good luck
