We made it! 14 plus hours of driving.
Some scenes from the road trip:
Our first stop: Vergennes Laundry! Please, can’t leave Vermont without popping in for the best croissant and coffee I’ve had outside of Paris. We also got a loaf of bread to bring home.
We listened to Japanese podcasts for about an hour, a few Splendid Table podcasts, and then my road trip playlist for the majority of the trip. By the time the last hour rolled around, we could only tolerate Fleetwood Mac though.
Merlin was the CHILLEST cat in the car. We got him a screened pet carrier and he just hung out in the backseat. It was kind of crazy how amazing he did on the road. (He is now in hiding at my parent’s place though.)
Rereading a Dessen favorite. Macy and Wes forever.
Almost home. The last part of the trip was sort of scary. It was dusk and we ran over a skunk, almost hit a deer, and a family of raccoons. I loved seeing the cornfields and fireflies in Ohio though. Anyway, it’s good to be home for a few days.
