Wrapping things up.

packingpackingpacking

The past few days: gathering maps and books, emptying the contents of my fridge, finishing up work, taking mom out for a well-deserved beer, and….um….trying to pack up everything that I couldn’t fit into two suitcases.

The plan is for mom, Merlin, and I to drive to Ohio tomorrow. Still a million things to do! (Like, figuring out how to drive 14 hours with a cat?) Crossing my fingers that we get an early start.

oh boy! Sounds like we’re going through the same thing! I called up my vet and got some sedatives for my kitty and didn’t even need an appointment (helpful for that last minute packing). Other than that, I’m hoping he’ll stay calm in his carrier. Best of luck with the move!

Good luck on the drive! My brother travels with his cat quite often. The cat is out of her carrier while he drives, and he buckles a top entry litterbox in the backseat. On the other hand, my cats are completely crazy when I travel with them.

I know! I found it at a bookstore in Burlington. I was so, SO excited. Laney and I loved using your book in NYC.

Hope your drive goes well! We’ve done one road trip with Merlot and it was 10 hours each way. We let him roam the car, and he was pretty happy. My husband, on the other hand, was not so happy when I failed to notice that Merlot had made his way down to the floor of the driver’s side and was dangerously close to causing interference with the brake pedal.

  5. 14 Hours with a Cat – hopefully not a talkative one! You are probably so DONE with packing – ha! Have a Great Day:) Happy Travels!
