It’s just photos. Sorry. I haven’t had a great day to be honest. This year is sort of like jumping off a cliff and not knowing where I’ll land. Logistics and outrageous moving expenses are stressing me out. I’m just……..not sure how this is all going to come together at the moment. (I’m also getting emotional, so there’s that.) Thankful that my mom is flying in from Ohio tomorrow night, which will make me feel better.
But here’s photos from the final full day in the city! Another packed day: Washington Square park, breakfast at a coffee shop near NYU, The Strand bookstore, Broadway play (we saw Once!), Empire State Building, drinks at 230 5th Ave (best bar view), and dinner at Otto’s.
*Having a Felicity moment. In front of a coffee shop near NYU. WHAT WOULD IT HAVE BEEN LIKE TO GO TO COLLEGE IN THE CITY?!?!?!
*An epic fried chicken sandwich.
*THE HOTTEST leading actor/singer/guitar player. Alison and I were SWOONING.
*Olive oil gelato. YES!
*Guenda from Sicily getting us a cab.
Okay, the end! I didn’t buy anything, except for a bag at The Strand, but ate well, had fun, and enjoyed my time with friends. Hopefully, I’ll get to repeat this trip down the road.

I love that shot through the cafe umbrella stands!! but what’s with the long red coats??!! I’ve never been to the “US+A” thanks for the whirl wind tour of a teeny part of it.
Oh, I should have added a caption! It was chilly at night in NYC and the bar handed out red Snuggies for everyone. It was hilarious. Everyone looked like they were in some weird cult.
Loving your photos – thanks for sharing!
I’ve been reading through all your NYC posts and I think this one is my favorite. Gorgeous! I’m visiting the city in October and I absolutely can’t wait. I’ve been there a couple times before, but my Italian friend has never been (also never been to the US!) so I want to plan out all the best stuff. Love the views from that restaurant!
Deep breaths, Sarah. It will all come together. Your mom will help ground you.
Love your pics they’re so vivid! What were you using for snaps? Didn’t look like it was some clunky humungous DSLR. Thanks!
THanks! And I had to laugh because it is some clunky DSLR. I joke with my friends that I’m the camera sherpa. No one else wants to carry a camera these days with small phones taking so many great pics. I feel sort of nutty. Ha!
Sometimes I wish I had a smaller camera. I’ve heard good things about the Olympus PEN E-P1. I have a Nikon D7000. If I use a smaller lens, like the 35mm, it’s not too clunky. But I also have a wide angle lens that makes carrying the camera a pain. It takes great pics, so I suffer.
