This might have been my best walk around Burlington EVER!
I may have alluded to the MILLION things I need to get done in the next few weeks. It’s true. I’m not exaggerating. But today was like the perfect weather day in Vermont. Even Vermonters were saying this! It was 73 degrees, blue sky, very light breeze, and no humidity.
I had to run errands this morning (get tires rotated, car aligned, contacts ordered, talk to Verizon people about my phone) and work late, but I had planned on going for a run after work. Once I got home I was so hungry though. I made a salmon version of the mock caesar salad, then was too full to go for a run.
So I decided to take a walk down to the waterfront and snap some pics of sunset. My new camera bag arrived from Amazon today – my old one from like Wal-Mart finally fell apart – so I thought it would be fun to test it out.
Then I remembered that I love these patches of flowers on College Street. I’m always walking by and admiring them, thinking to myself to come back with my camera. I loved this pink one.
Oh, and here’s the city library. I’m there a lot, checking out cookbooks, travel books, and young adult books. Ha!
And here’s My Little Cupcake, right across the street from the library.
Of course, I can’t walk by and not get a cupcake. Please. I got a salted caramel to eat down at the waterfront.
BUT when I walked by Church Street I forgot it was Jazz fest in town.
The weather hasn’t been great the past week, so I totally forgot about it. There were about 1,000 people on Church Street. Tons of live music. It was…..amazing.
If you’re familiar with Boulder, our Church Street is like their Pearl Street. (I also like to think of Burlington as a smaller, colder, less pretentious version of Boulder….but I only lived out there for a year!)
There were also some bands playing on the waterfront. It looks like most people biked down. You needed a ticket to get in, so I just hung out on the grass for a while and chatted with my mom.
Ta-da! Here’s my new camera bag. It’s a Crumpler bag and I like it so far. I wish it wasn’t so hard to find a comfortable, not clunky, somewhat cute, functional camera bag.
And check out the sunset. Sw00000n.
I forget what a gorgeous city Burlington is at times. Today it just took my breath away.
