I was away for most of the weekend, taking part in two fantastic tea parties, and have too many pics to deal with for the next couple of days. Life will be a blur of work, pottery class (I’m behind on trimming pieces), work, running, physical therapy exercises for running, and more work. I made some quick quinoa for lunches and am finishing up late night laundry. Whew!
For now, a post on hair. (This time there is no video of me wearing a t-shirt on my head. Thank God. It works though. I was talking about this method at a tea party this weekend.)
So, I didn’t say anything about Katniss and her cool Hunger Games hairstyle in my movie review!
Although I don’t wear them often anymore, I’m a big fan of the French braid. When I was younger, and first learned how to French braid on my own, I became obsessed with this braid. When I watched the movie, I fell hard for the French braid again. Then, all around campus, so many side braids. It’s a Hunger Games hairstyle craze.
Katniss wears her French braid with the pieces pulled under, instead of over, the middle section. I actually like this better for me because my hair is so puffy. It makes the braid flat against my head, which is no small miracle.
Although it’s a bit young for me…..DON’T CARE!
That’s it for now. Hope you all had lovely weekends!

I’m so jealous of your hair! I just tried this and my hair is so thin that my braid is about the diameter of a pencil (and also too short). bleh.
Eeeee…..MARY! Are you back in the States yet? Call me.
P.S. Products! Spray it with hairspray, fluff it up, then braid.
It is not 2 young for you! You rock it gf!
Oh, good to know Jill.
Really cute hairstyle, love it.
Thanks!
you are so cute – love your hair!
Oh gosh, thanks so much! I really don’t like pics of me all that well.
Love the hair! I think I may have to try this soon
Do try it out! I’m having fun with braids again.
You definitely pull it off the Katniss braid well! So cute! I don’t know how to French braid my own hair – or anyone’s hair come to think of it – but I would love to learn how.
