Did many of you see The Hunger Games this weekend? My little sister went to a matinée today and LOVED it. I think she thought I was being overly critical. (For the record, I did enjoy it.)
Saturday morning, I attempted a 16-mile training run, but it turned into 12.5-miles after I stretched at a stoplight and accidentally put both hands in broken glass. (Darn the litterbugs in the world! I think it was a broken bottle.) The cuts weren’t deep, but they wouldn’t stop bleeding. I just decided to head home, clean the cuts, pack up, and head out-of-town.
A friend has a place near Smugglers’ Notch. At first, I was a bit bummed that it wasn’t warm and sunny like last weekend, but it felt good to hunker down inside a pine-wood cabin in the rain.
Cabin food!
Saturday night, we made salmon, this herbed quinoa (awesome), and a spinach/grapefruit salad. Followed by cheesecake for dessert. Divine.
The weather cleared for a bit Sunday morning, and we made it out for a short hike.
I spotted quite a few signs of spring.

Eesh, I hope your hands are okay. Sounds like some good relaxation though. Stella is the perfect cabin brew!
Yes, the cuts were small once I cleaned them. Whew! I’m sort of laughing that I would OF COURSE put my hands in glass. Next time I’ll look:)
