It’s been a Hunger Games kind of week.
+Reread the book. (I’ve loved this book for a long time. I read it back in 2009, raving to everyone like a lunatic about how I brought it to a friend’s wedding in North Carolina and just wanted to hole up in the hotel reading it.)
+Listened to FYA Hunger Games playlist on Spotify.
+Giggled at FYA’s also hilarious post on all things Hunger Games.
+And I’m going to see the movie tonight!
I’m actually a bit worried to see the movie though. You know how films sometimes turn out on books you love? Not exactly as you had imagined.
*The soundtrack is a bit too country for my liking…..
*I’m sort of worried I won’t love Peeta in the movie……ugh….read this.
(I always liked Gale a little bit better. I think it’s because he’s such a presence in the first part of the book. He helped Katniss stay alive TOO. On it goes.)
*And, and, and……I’m more excited to see Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane than anyone else.
(I suppose that’s what happens when I go see teen flicks these days…..)
I’m late to the “game” but I just finished Mockingjay – I read all three books in about 6 days and every time I go for a walk outside I think about what sort of critter I can snare. Hoping the movie is as good as the books. Cheers!

Were you team Gale or team Peeta?
I liked them both! Not sure I can decide but I am a sucker for dark and handsome.

Team Peeta all the way!! He’s my favorite character after Finnick. I saw The Kids are Alright, and Josh Hutcherson was pretty good in it, so I have high hopes for Peeta. I haven’t seen Liam Hemsworth in anything yet, so I have no idea what to expect, but he definitely fits the part physically. In general, I think the movie was really well-cast (including the “minor” characters”), so I’m excited. It’s been a year since I finished the books (in one weekend, haha), so I want to re-read them before I go see the movie. Let us know what you think!!
