Candylicious!

Candylicious! What a name. I’ve completely gotten the song Fergalicious stuck in my head just writing this post.

Okay, the August 2011 Daring Bakersโ€™ Challenge was hosted by Lisa of Parsley, Sage, Desserts and Line Drive and Mandy of What the Fruitcake?!.

These two sugar mavens challenged us to make sinfully delicious candies! This was a special challenge for the Daring Bakers because the good folks at Chocoley offered an amazing prize for the winner of the most creative and delicious candy.

Mine were not that creative. Pretty basic actually. I really have to stop leaving these challenges until the last minute! I went for the easiest two candies to make: a dark and white chocolate truffle.

All I had to do was chop up chocolate, add some warmed heavy cream, and stir. I did dye the white chocolate pink. That’s fun, right?

I rolled the dark chocolate in crushed maple roasted cashews, and the white chocolate in sprinkles.

They turned out so pretty! The best part is that the truffles took very little time.

    Dark chocolate with maple roasted cashews? I bet the flavors in those are just fantastic. Your chocolates look really beautifully arranged so nicely on the plate!

    Truffles really are very quick and easy to make which I think is a great thing. Not all candy making needs to be labour intensive!
