It’s the never-ending applesauce project. I’ve been off work most of the week to hang out with my parents. Most nights we make applesauce, and well, we’re getting applesauced out. I might have picked too many apples. We’ve processed over 200 apples this week and done a whole-lotta chopping! The good news is that we learned a lot about canning and I’m getting a head start on holiday gifts. (That normally never happens.) The bad news is that I still have about 60 more apples to process!

You can see we started out with jelly jars, then went to pint jars, and now we’ve bought the quart-size jars!

Anyone else have any fun weekend projects……or mushy apple (mine were mainly drops) recommendations?

Holy applesauce Batman! Wish I had a jar of that right now with a spoon. Good work!
Are you bringing this applesauce with you to SF??
Great photos!!! Looks delicious!
Wow! That’s a ton of applesauce! I picked up a 30 pound box of of dropped apples this year for $5, so I know the feeling…. I decided to make apple butter instead – you can use the slow cooker for it which is amazing!
